CONCRETE SITE PAVING

JDE Concrete has built commercial concrete site paving across West Michigan for over 29 years, and every project is designed around the traffic it will actually carry.

We work closely with general contractors and developers on sequencing and site access. With our modern fleet of boom pumps, line pumps, and conveyor trucks, we can place concrete efficiently on large open sites and tight ones.

We treat subgrade preparation, drainage, and joint layout as the core of the job, because we know: A well-compacted base and a smart jointing plan are what keep slabs from cracking, settling, or holding water through Michigan’s freeze-thaw cycles.

What we handle:

  • Drive lanes and site access roads
  • Loading areas and truck courts
  • Dumpster pads
  • Building entrances and aprons
  • Commercial walkways and sidewalks
  • Subgrade preparation, drainage, and joint layout
  • ACI-certified cold weather pour procedures

Q&A Section

What is commercial site paving?
Commercial site paving is the surfacing of the outdoor areas around a building, such as drive lanes, access roads, truck courts, dumpster pads, and entrances. It is built to carry vehicle traffic and handle drainage, and it is designed around the loads each area will see.
Why use concrete instead of asphalt for heavy-traffic areas?
Concrete resists the rutting that heavy, slow-turning trucks cause and is far less affected by fuel and oil leaks. That makes it a common choice for truck courts, loading areas, and dumpster pads. It costs more upfront than asphalt but typically lasts longer with less routine maintenance.
How soon can new concrete paving open to traffic?
Passenger vehicles can usually use new concrete after about 7 days. Heavy truck traffic should wait until the concrete reaches its design strength, typically 28 days, unless the mix is specified for earlier opening. We build the pour schedule around your opening date.
